Radio for Community Participation for Equity and Quality in Guinean Basic Education (PACEEQ)

In an innovative project using local media, EDC strive to bridge the disconnection common between parents and schools in Guinea through a project that promoted community participation in order to achive equity and quality in primary education. Based on approaches employed by World Education to strengthen a community's capacity to design and manage school improvement plans and leverage funding, EDC worked with radio stations in two rural areas to produce dramatic radio programs in the local language to inform parents about strategies for and the benefits of getting involved with their children's schooling.
