EQUIP3/Rwanda Youth Opportunity Network
The Rwanda Youth Opportunity Network (RYON), an EQUIP3 Associate Award, aims to develop a thriving youth livelihood support system in Rwanda to increase the prosperity of not only youth, but also the public and private institutions that support and benefit from youths’ productive engagement in Rwandan society. To achieve this goal, RYON will provide youth in Kigali with market-relevant life and work readiness training and support, hands-on training opportunities, and links into the employment and self-employment job market. Further, the program will work with government, private sector and civil society organizations to help them develop a youth livelihood opportunity network. This network will allow partner organizations to leverage their existing resources to better match demand and supply of labor, employment, training, and social support services. The network will also help partnerships among a range of entities evolve to serve a number of complementary interests: youth livelihood, education and training; private sector development; social cohesion; government capacity; and civil society development. Through building both the capacities of and the linkages between youth and institutions, RYON will also contribute to the strengthening of the Rwandan economy. Read more >>
