EDC implemented activities to support the Bahrain Labor Market Reform Initiative with the objective of providing technical assistance to the Government of Bahrain on Labor Market reforms and recommending policies and strategies to accomplish this reform. Phase One of project implementation was focused on labor market analysis reviewing labor dynamics (wages, working conditions, and unemployment among expatriate and domestic labor, women, and youth), labor policy (legislative and regulatory), and labor market information. Phase Two implementation focused on labor policy reforms as they affect labor exploitation and trafficking, and public awareness focused on labor exploitation and labor trafficking. Activities were designed to complement and support the Government of Bahrain Labor Market Reforms Initiative.
