Guyana BEAMS: International Technical Assessment in Literacy

The School Performance Component of BEAMS (Basic Education Access, Management, and Support) was designed to provide an integrated program to enhance early literacy and numeracy among Guyana's school-age population, including those from remote and poverty-stricken regions. IDD was providing technical assistance in the area of literacy. The IDD advisor worked closely with the National Literacy Advisor of Guyana to provide the technical assistance and training necessary to develop and implement classroom reforms in literacy.
