Adult and Non-Formal Education

For people who missed a formal education during childhood, adult learning programs can be a life saver. IDD works with developing countries to develop and implement engaging and relevant programs for adult learners.
IDD programs address basic literacy, health education, and civics education and increasingly focus on marketable skills such as computer literacy. Cognizant of the responsibilities and circumstances of adult life, IDD designs accessible programs that draw on the resources of the community, and are made available at convenient settings such as religious institutions, worksites, or community centers. IDD programs offer training for adults as facilitators and provide resources such as community and Interactive Radio Instruction (IRI) programs that deliver active, relevant, learner-centered lessons.
