Strategic Approach

Teacher Training

The IRI programmes are breaking the monotony and are very helpful for single teacher schools

Teacher training is part of the T4 project through the hands-on dual audience approach of all of its instructional technology tools. These tools such as the IRI, educational videos and GTL software provide direct instruction to students and also train teachers on how to improve their teaching methods.

Dot-EDU also conducts a series of workshops to train teachers to improve the quality of teaching methods for all children. The primary focus is on adapting the teaching methods presented in the technology tools to other parts of the teachers’ daily routine, specifically, child-centered and activity-based teaching methods. EDC has worked closely with government officials at the state, district and block levels to integrate workshops into their in-service training programs and to design toolkits so all training can be easily replicated each year. EDC has been able to achieve this in many of the project states. Both of these methods were chosen to improve chances of sustainability. EDC is also working with local NGOs in the development and delivery of the trainings and with numerous “master teachers” that are becoming leaders in their blocks and schools.
