Overall Strategy
Dot-EDU's main goals in India are to improve quality and to increase equity and access in education using ICT tools. The strategic approach to achieve these goals consists of implementing and coordinating a combination of technological tools, media, pedagogy and human resources that all reinforce and support one another. This increases dot-EDU India’s effectiveness, reach and sustainability.
This strategic approach includes coordinating the following key activities:
- Bringing together numerous stakeholders and partners, engaging them in ongoing dialogue and collaboration and tapping their expertise and networks of resources
- Developing multiple digital learning technologies for mass delivery of quality education to India’s classrooms including interactive radio instruction (IRI), educational videos, group teaching learning software (GTL), multimedia kits and the digital library
- Training teachers in pedagogical methods that improve teaching and learning in their classrooms on a daily basis through a series of workshops, and reinforced across different learning tools such as IRI, GTL, multimedia kits and educational videos
- Applying interactive, child-centered, project-based and activity-based learning methodologies through teacher training, and with pedagogy tools
- Implementing scientifically designed curricula based on research and hard spots
- Involving parents and local communities in their children’s education by engaging them in the various T4 activities and other school programs, and training community leaders to work with communities around project schools to support the schools in the development of quality education
- Monitoring and evaluating different programs at regular intervals to inform design and decision making
- Undertaking capacity building for educational managers and administrators towards facilitating effective delivery of education
- Researching and producing case studies and reports in the field of ICTs and primary education
- Providing technical assistance and training on an as needed basis to QUEST partners
