Project Overview

Activities at the National Level

EDC believes in creating platforms for sharing information and best practices in the area of technology supported educational interventions. EDC has been working to promote partnerships for innovative and effective uses of ICTs in education. It would endeavour to bring together government, non-government and other private partners to create models for improving the quality of education at all levels. EDC hopes to organize regional and national level consultations to explore such multi-stakeholder partnerships in the education sector.

EDC is also involved in activities at the national level in India through the Quality Education and Skills Alliance (QUEST) Alliance. QUEST, formed in 2004, is a partnership of local NGOs, international development agencies, corporate foundations, and private companies promoting the effective use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to bring about improvements in the quality and relevance of education particularly for vulnerable children, adolescents and disadvantaged communities in India. EDC continues to participate in QUEST activities and provide technical assistance and training on an as needed basis, as per the goals of the QUEST Alliance and its partners. The Digital Library that EDC has set up has content sourced from QUEST partners. The GTL software developed by EDC has also been shared with schools with computer labs managed by QUEST partners.
